Digital Bangladesh is not only meant to provide digital services, but to ensure the safety of digital personal data stored by the country\’s 160 million people daily. In the future, information security is very important for national interest. Many organizations are providing various services and handling user’s data, which is very risky for the country. They will be deported if the data protection law is over. So law enforcement agencies should ensure to protect people from this hidden flaw.  That is why, it is important to enact a Data Protection friendly law as early as possible.

Cyber Security Specialists demands this issue at a discussion held on Sunday at the Dhaka Reporters Unity on the occasion of International Data Privacy Day. Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation, a voluntary organization to protect people from cyber threat organized this \’Privacy Talk\’.

CCA Foundation organizing Convener Kazi Mustafiz presided over the program and Abdullah Hasan, secretary of CCA Foundation conducted this discussion program. The discussion sponsored by technology service provider Agamitech & MediaMix Communications.

Controller of Certifying Authority (CCA) Controller (Joint Secretary) Abul Mansur Mohammad Sharf Uddin, Information Technologist and organizing adviser AKM Nazrul Haider, Em Pannah, Associate Professor of Cyber Security Department of Maryland University of the United States, and United States of Digital Services (USDS) Quality Assurance Director Sheikh Galib Rahman also participate in this burning dialogue.

AKM Nazrul Haider said, 99 percent of the users allowed access to all information while using apps on mobile phones. Your information is related to the companies that are selling at a high price. Everyone should be careful about this.

Dr. Em Pannah said, there are some people in the world who collect dirt from the bin. But what will they do with dirt? Actually they are the hacker group. From there, various personal information was collected from people on different papers. Later, that information is used illegally. For example, he said, using your national identity card s/he opened the Bank Account and lent money in that name. Then it will come to your neck. The information that you get to know, you need to be well protected. That is why it is necessary to formulate a quick law.

Sheikh Galib said, \”We need to organize more awareness workshops, meeting-seminars etc. for internet users.\” All friends and family have to be aware of.
